Rethinking My Use case

My initial idea was to test as many different types of knowledge management tools and document management system tools out there. As someone in the consulting space, I was wondering would coud replace paid software I'm using - such as OpenAI ChatGPT to Pocket, DropBox and others.

It has been nearly two months of trying out different software, with also a lot of troubleshooting. My goals are now shifting:

  1. Stories about people suddently losing access to their Apple and Google accounts scare me, and I wonder what are ways to safely minimize or mitigate such events.
  2. What are the unique tools - or perhaps that deliver more privacy - that are not part of my workflow today but should be and can be done with Open Source software easily.

Password Management

I will continue to use Chrome's Password Manager, but withback up to VaultWarden (self-hosted bitwarden)

File Storage and Backup

I tried consolidating my Google Drive and DropBox into OneDrive (as its part of my Ofice 365 package), but OneDrive is just garbage. Currently, I'm keeping Google Drive (for collaboration), DropBox (for long-term storage) with long-term redundency on a local harddrive (Seagate Ironwolf) and on a cloud (glacier backup). The redundency backup uses rclone to copy files from google drive, dropbox.
